What glass thickness is standard for SS handrail with glass systems?

We supply toughened glass from 10mm to 18mm, and 6+6+1.52 PVB laminated glass. 12mm toughened is the usual choice for balcony and staircase railings with a top rail. Frameless systems without a top rail use thicker toughened or laminated glass, selected to suit the railing height and load. The 12mm specification satisfies IS 875 Part 2 for residential and commercial applications.

Should I use SS304 or SS316 for my Hyderabad project?

For most Hyderabad locations (Gachibowli, Banjara Hills, Hitech City, Kondapur), SS304 is adequate and more economical. Use SS316 only for rooftop areas with water features, poolside railings, or coastal projects where chloride resistance is needed.

How long does installation take for a typical staircase?

A 3-floor staircase (approximately 30–40 running feet) takes 2–3 days fabrication and 1 day installation. Lead time depends on project scope and current work front. We measure first, fabricate at our Jeedimetla factory, then install.

Do you provide IS 875 compliance certification?

Yes. All Sun Railings systems are designed to IS 875 Part 2 load standards and we provide written compliance documentation. Our systems have been accepted for AIIMS, IIT, GMR Airport, and L&T Metro — all requiring formal structural compliance certification.
