Glass Railings in Hyderabad
Toughened & Laminated Safety Glass Systems
Sun Railings designs, fabricates and installs glass railing systems for commercial complexes, hotels, IT campuses, metro stations and institutional projects across Hyderabad. Our systems use IS 2553-compliant toughened and laminated glass with stainless steel channels and fittings engineered for structural compliance.
Glass Railings Built for Commercial and Infrastructure Projects
10mm, 12mm and 15mm toughened and laminated glass — Hyderabad factory
Glass railings from Sun Railings are specified by architects, interior designers and procurement teams who want the visual openness of glass combined with the structural reliability of a properly engineered railing system. We supply frameless glass railings, semi-frameless glass railings and glass infill systems with stainless steel posts and handrails.
All glass used in our railing systems conforms to IS 2553 Part 1, the Indian standard for safety glass. This is a non-negotiable specification for any commercial or public building installation. We use toughened safety glass for most applications and laminated safety glass for high-rise, high-risk and frameless installations where breakage safety is critical.
Glass thickness selection depends on the application. 10mm toughened glass is suitable for interior staircases and low-risk applications. 12mm toughened is standard for external balconies and exposed walkways. For high-rise installations above the fifth floor, frameless systems and areas with high wind loads, we specify 12mm or 15mm laminated safety glass as a matter of course.
Our glass railing installations include proper stainless steel base channels, mid-rails where required by code, and continuous handrails in SS304 or SS316 depending on the environment. Every system is designed to meet IS 875 load requirements, with anchor positions and glass thickness calculated by our engineering team before fabrication begins.
Why Architects & Project Teams Choose Our Glass Railings
Six reasons Sun Railings glass systems are specified on major projects
Maximum Transparency
Glass railings open up a space in a way that steel balusters cannot. For hotel atriums, IT campus corridors, shopping mall voids and high-rise balconies, the visual continuity provided by glass railings is architecturally significant.
IS 2553 Safety Compliance
All glass in our railing systems meets IS 2553 Part 1 requirements for safety glazing. Toughened glass breaks into small rounded pieces rather than dangerous shards. Laminated glass holds together on breakage — essential for frameless systems at height.
SS316 Fittings for Durability
All channels, clamps, handrail brackets and fixings are in SS316 grade stainless steel for outdoor and coastal installations. SS316 resists the chloride corrosion that damages lower-grade fittings in humid environments over time.
Custom Glass Options
Clear glass, low-iron ultra-clear glass, tinted glass and frosted glass options. Custom tints, silk-screen patterns and acid-etched designs available on request for architectural projects with specific aesthetic requirements.
Structural Engineering
Glass thickness and channel size are calculated for the specific wind loads and horizontal loads at each installation. For high-rise projects we provide structural calculations and can coordinate with the project’s structural engineer.
End-to-End Service
From site measurement to shop drawing to fabrication to installation, Sun Railings manages the complete glass railing package. One point of contact, one contract, one team responsible from start to handover.

Toughened vs Laminated Glass — Which to Specify
Toughened glass is heat-treated to be 4–5 times stronger than standard glass. On breakage it shatters into small rounded fragments that are less likely to cause serious injury. It is appropriate for semi-frameless systems with posts and for lower-risk interior applications. Laminated glass consists of two glass panes bonded with a PVB interlayer. When broken, the glass adheres to the interlayer rather than shattering and falling — this is mandatory for frameless systems and for any installation where falling glass poses a risk to people below.
Channel and Fitting Specifications
Base channels are typically 100mm deep SS316 U-channel anchor-bolted at 600mm centres. Spigot systems use 316 grade posts bolted at 1000mm centres with glass clamps. All anchor bolts are M12 minimum with 100mm embedment depth in structural concrete. Post-installed anchor bolts are pull-tested for each project on request.
